Today in class we read the book "Hope for the Flowers". We've talked a lot about allegories, typology, and parables in class all year. Basically, we are always searching for the deeper meaning--they meaning Jesus has for us in all of these. Hope for the Flowers is an example of a story with a deeper meaning, a meaning that points to Jesus.
Thinking and reflecting about this book that we read in class I would like you to answer the following questions in response to this blog post. We will eventually have a larger discussion in class as well; this is to get the ball rolling and to read the reflections of others:
1) How do we see the themes of faith, death, and resurrection in this story?
2) Who do you identify with more: Stripe or Yellow? Why?
3) Stripe desires to know whats at the top of the pillar and will eventually do anything to find out; what does this relate to in our society today?
4) As whole, how does this story relate to the human condition and your own experiences?
